Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts has opened Al Wathba desert resort and spa, a new luxury desert resort in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Built over an area of 22,000 square metres, the hotel comprises 103 guest rooms and villas, Gulf Business reported, citing the Dubai-based luxury hotelier.

It features villas with private pools, Arabian-style rooms and a 1,000 square metre pool that stretches out into the desert and expands into secluded inlets and coves, including a pool bar with in-water seating.

“It’s important for us to have a portfolio in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi that reflects the true essence of the destination. The Resort joins two existing hotels – Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers – both in prime locations,” José Silva, CEO of Jumeirah Group, commented.
